Work in Ireland
Ireland is emerging as one of the popular destinations to work and immigrate from many aspirants from around the world. This is due to the stable economy and many other reasons like straightforward moving process for skilled employees. There is a different process related to immigration to republic of Ireland than the Northern Ireland which is a constituent state of UK. Hence, the Republic of Ireland is known in simple terms as ‘Ireland’ which we will read about here. For citizens from members of European Union the work, living and studying process is relaxed not needing a permit. However, in case the candidate comes from a country that is not from the EU countries, he or she requires a work permit like several countries around the world. The various Ireland work visas are listed here.
Types of Irish Work Permit(Republic of Ireland)
- General Emp. Permit: This work permit type is generally issued for a 2 year period and can be extended if required for 3 more years upon expiration of visa. Generally, the visa process can be initiated by employer / employee. There is a specific minimum income required on bagging the job offer and other conditions that candidate has to fulfil. Even the employer has to fulfil some conditions like the Job Offer must have been advertised first within the EEA (european economic area).
- Critical Skills Visa: For this type of work permit there must be an occupation listed on Ireland highly skillled occupations list and candidate must match the skills & criteria required for the position. There is also a minimum cap on income level that varies depending on whether it is listed or not listed here. Employment contract must be at least for 2 years and the visa process can be applied by either worker/ employer. Later, they can go for permanent work and stay in Ireland upon meeting some requirements.
The other work permit is for dependents of such work permit holders and children below 18 years of age and unmarried. However, in case the spouse also holds such a visa, they also have to be within the minimum wages on the job and minimum number of hours of work per week. Family members must also meet all required critera.
